My Experience: I have over 35 years of leadership experience in business and government. I am a professional speaker and trainer, a coach, a writer, an entrepreneur, a project manager, and a consultant. I have previously served as a professional city manager, a city and regional planner, and a state and local government researcher and consultant. I have traveled and worked in 46 US states and in countries on five continents.

M. A. Mac Curfman is the founder and principal of M.A.Curfman Learning, a global training and coaching firm. He is also the founder and Chief Coffee Guru of Mac’s Java Coffee Roasters, a specialty coffee roasting company. Mac also founded Go Global Inc., a small not-for-profit organization that provides leadership development in West Africa, North Africa, and the Middle East.

Mac has been an entrepreneur and an iconoclast thinker his entire career. He has earned a tremendous reputation as a go-to resource and as a non-conventional problem-solver. Mac Curfman has been married to his college sweetheart, Amanda, for over 35 years, and they have two children. Their daughter is also an entrepreneur who owns and runs a photography business and creative marketing firm. Their son loves museum work and works at a museum in Charleston, SC. He’ll shortly be headed off to graduate school to study Public History.

Well-traveled, Mac thrives in diverse cultures. He has traveled to and worked in 47 U.S. states and countries on five continents. He regularly travels to and works for extended periods in West Africa.

Of course, he loves roasting and drinking coffee! His favorite coffee is Indonesia Sulawesi Kalossi Tana Toraja.

Mac is an avid outdoorsman. He loves hiking, camping, fly fishing, hunting, recreational pistol and rifle shooting, and spending time in his backyard around the fire with family and friends.

Mac is a bibliophile. He reads about 100 books annually, and his library includes approximately 4,000 volumes.

Shortly, Mac will release his book, “You Want Me to Manage a What?”: A Rubber-Meets-the-Road Approach to Project Management. He is also working on his next book, “LEAD!: Important Actions of a Leader.”
